It is with heavy hearts that we remember Sherri Cole of Altoona, a beloved community member whose passing has left a deep sense of loss among family, friends, coworkers, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Sherri was a familiar and cherished face to many through her longtime work at Menards in Altoona, where she spent decades serving customers with warmth, energy, and genuine kindness. Whether assisting someone in the paint department or simply sharing a smile, she had a special way of making people feel welcome and valued. For many in the community, a trip to Menards wasn’t complete without seeing Sherri.
Before her years at Menards, Sherri also worked in a small downtown restaurant, where she began building the relationships and connections that would follow her throughout her life. She later brought that same spirit to her time at Prairie Meadows Casino, continuing to touch lives wherever she went.
Those who knew Sherri often say, “To know her was to love her,” and it’s easy to understand why. She had a joyful personality, a vibrant presence, and a heart that seemed to make room for everyone. She never hesitated to pause what she was doing to make someone else feel important, and her kindness left lasting impressions on countless people.
